An interesting take on self-care
Between struggling with an eating disorder, working, going to school and trying to just live life, I've come to realize that taking care of yourself is an essential part of living your life. As a goal-driven individual, I know I can't accomplish my goal unless I am 110% there - mentally, physically and emotionally. With that being said, self-care has become part of my overall routine in balancing work, school and life.
I came across a brand online through one of the influencers I follow called, Therabox. Therabox is unique in the market of subscription boxes, as it delivers all types of self-care tools each month. Between Birchbox, Fab Fit Fun, ScentBird and many others, the subscription market has not only blossomed, but has become saturated. I think that Therabox stands out among these major players because their value proposition isn't solely based around products, but puts the end user's mentality at the core to deliver the best experience. Each box is curated using research inspired therapeutic activities and wellness products to improve life and boost happiness.
"To inspire happier lives through practical joy boosting activities and thoughtful products! We are for all finders and seekers of a purposeful and inspirational life."
Therabox works with a variety of vendors that fill their boxes each month including: Brevity, 3W Clinic, A Peace of Mind and Lil T's Organics. With these products, they create different themed boxes like the ones below:
I think this is such an interesting approach to introducing self-care and making it relevant in the online world filled with Millennials and the Gen Z audience. Between hectic lifestyles and work schedules, self-care should be put at the top of the list of priorities. Self-care is not selfish. As Deborah Day once said, "Nourishing yourself in a way that helps you blossom in the direction you want to go is attainable, and you are worth the effort."
